Thought I would put the forum to good effect with a new thread...

Do we know of anything the uni are getting up to which we should call them to account for. The Meal Plan scam is well accounted as is the poor quality of food in Shackleton.

With this thread we can bring up anywhere the uni are behaving badly whether it be in regards to education or welfare!

Departments including my own still using Wednesday afternoons for teaching and exams. It really pisses me off. I know a lot of people (and probably a disproportionate number within GC, sorry if that's offensive but it's just a generalisation) aren't too bothered about physical recreation, but for those of us who do we need to have this time set aside, as at weekends people are often working, or going home or off to other places, and in the evenings (especially now in the winter) it's too dark for most outdoors things to be much fun. And even indoor things are busy in the evenings (don't know about uni facilities but in the private sector certainly).

Save our Wednesday afternoons!

More info and a poll to find out if other people have been affected...

Thought I'd keep this thread clear for UNI WATCH

The Uni just released a new policy on paper usage. I'd read it and comment but it's only viewable from on campus, which I'm not right now, and off-campus authentication is being shit today.

Policy: http://www.environment.bham.ac.uk/univ/envpolicy/uep1.htm

Guidance: http://www.environment.bham.ac.uk/univ/news.htm#paper

(did anyone know there was a www.climatechange.bham.ac.uk? I didn't. It's 80% buzzwords and 20% pretty pie charts.)

The uni's environmental officer, Trevor Shields, is really good but he is up against quite a lot of difficult people. You should see some of their ideas... Smile
