I did post this in the guild democracy topic but i will post it here in the free speach one to:

Well its made him look like the a*******e he is - if he had any true conviction he would not have withdrawn it and would have defended it in the face of the media spotlight. In fact just giving this guy the media spot light is like giving attention to the kid at school who ate the teachers chalk - he is an attention seeker - he comes up with things such as this and the blood service thing that are of no benefit to the guild but do only one thing - give him headlines in the press.

A debate about a State Funeral (which should only go to heads of state and PMs that saved the country, like Winston Churchill) is entirely justified but calling to dance on someone’s grave isn’t and is the product of a warped mind.

During Thatcher’s term of office she reshaped almost every aspect of British politics, reviving the economy, reforming outdated institutions, and reinvigorating the nation's foreign policy. She challenged and did much to overturn the psychology of decline which had become rooted in Britain since the Second World War, pursuing national recovery with striking energy and determination - and for that she should be praised. She may be hated by the guild (or at least by the president who loves everything to the left of Tony Benn) but I would argue not by the general public, where in surveys she is almost always ranked in the top 3 or 4 best PMs of all time, much higher may I add than Tony Blair.

Have a party if you want. Just don't put it forward to Guild council to try and make yourself look clever and end up doing the opposite, lol.

What lefties would they be? Usual Tory propoganda,"oh we saved the country", utter b*llo*k. Who knows what would have happened had there been another government instead. Thatcher just got lucky with economy at certain points, and utterly f**k up at other points (3 million unemployed). And as for breaking the unions, well you know who to blame for the race to the bottom in poorer and poorer workers' rights in Europe today.

As much as I completely disagree with Ash's prothatcherite warblings, I do find it a bit worrying how often personal hatred is the product of politics. I won't be dancing/skanking on anyone's grave, however much I despise their life 'achievements'. I'm sure I've got better things to do.

dancing on someone's grave? what a c**t imo, don't care who you're talking about.
but then i guess if that's what you believe in then retracting it is pretty ridiculous too.

if you don't like what she did then i think the best time for a 'f**k you' dance would have been when she stopped running the country, or when the tories were ousted.
if you think the day that a family loses a mother is a day for celebration then you sir are a shit of the lowest kind IMHO.

even if her offspring are arseholes, her death will only mean sadness for them, and not the end of her juju curse on the lower classes.
