What do you think are the best uni halls (apart from ones that you are in/were in).

I'd say Jarrett, although they are all overpriced for the crap that they are, we get ripped off here more than any other uni in the country.

Jarrat is definately good but I'd say Douper is even better. It's self-catered, in Dawlish Road, 10 metres from OMCO (Nisa) and all rooms are en-suite. It's 2 years old I think (hehe) but it doesn't actually belong to the uni. It's owned by Bigwoods Associates Ltd (if that means anything to you - to me it only means I have to go all the way to Five Ways to pay my rent because Direct Debit didn't work!!). They've got this contract thing with the uni so that they rent it out to students.

I'm moving to Victoria Hall next year (phase 1 and its tiny "corridor kitchen" unfortunately... *sigh*) but am considering moving back to Douper for my 3rd year.

The only thing I don't like about it is that the walls are mega thin and I can even hear my flatmate's alarm clock go off in the morning.. not to mention other things!! hehehe... two words: EAR PLUGS!! but it's real good overall. Very Happy

The Spinney is great.

My friend was in Douper in her first year and her housemate set fire to the kitchen.

I'm a beeches baby .... I think everyone underestimates it potential

1. because noone usually knows where it is
2. its soooo close to broad street , when I was sober (its not that often I know) it took 5 minutes to get there
3. Its a good thing to be set apart from everyone (I know this on a personal level coming from Devon!)
4.Its not a bad place..... I mean I thought the standard of accommodation was pretty good (well for a "tramp" it can only go up)

But hey

BEECHES RULE Cool

I'd second that

It also takes a lot longer than 5 minutes to get from broad street to the beeches when you happen to be carrying someone home Wink

The only problem with the Beeches I reckon is that it doesnt have The Vale. But Broad St is a fair but very different swap!
