We thought there was a rat scurrying round in our ceiling once. But it died, or got mysteriously 'disappeared' by shady security forces, or something, so it's okay.

I've heard somewhere that 23% of student houses are shared with rats. I doubt many of you know that Wink

When I was looking round there was a rat in my house for next year, luckily in a cage as someone's pet. There were also some cats there.

Pet rats are cute, but those white ones can be freaky with the red eyes.

I saw a rat on the vale the other day scurring towards Aitken wing.

If the rubbish is put in a wheelie bin i guess they cant get to it.

23%? I very much doubt that. The only rat I've ever seen whilst at uni was by the library. Does that 23% include people in halls or what? Where did you get your stats James?

Well they say in London you are never more then 5 meters from a rat. I suppose they live under the ground so you wouldnt see them anyway.

If you think about it, if you 2 storys up, then its more than 5 metres to the ground, so it would require rats to be on at least every other floor to keep a rat within range. plus its more than 5 metres from the sewers in the middle of the roads to peoples houses plus most houses would fit a 5 metre radius inside them, so the rats would need to actually be in your house to be within 5 metres.
