He's quality, as is Asterix. If i am asked which I prefer out of those two, then it's got to be Tintin, though cannot understate how good Asterix is!

He's still just as good today when I read him as he was when I read him ten years ago.

Sophie and mum site down to dinner

Tiger knocks on door

Tiger eats all the food in the house, drinks all the tap water (and daddy's beer).

Tiger leaves.

Dad comes home and takes Sophie and mum out for dinner!

Moral - If a tiger comes to your house, feed him well and you'll get taken out to dinner!

Ditto on The Tiger who came to tea...a friend of mine bought it for me last Christmas when I got all misty eyed over a copy of it in Waterstones...it came complete with miniture tea pot, two cups and saucers with a lovely tiger's face on each one! Each cup probably held about a shot of tea (or whatever), but I was nostalgic for about a day...then I got bored with it.

I actually used to love Enid Blyton, although I fear she wrote for someone a little more upper-class than myself...never got to fulfill my dreams of playing lacrosse at a posh all-girls school...also loved the choose your own adventure books (tell me I'm not the only one who used to cheat on them...flicking to one ending then to another to see which one was better...)

Tom's Midnight Garden... it's gorgeous. Very sad though.
Also, Treasure Island, His Dark Materials.

Oh yeah, and The Little Prince (a translation of a French Children's story) is absolutely beautiful. Would reccomend it to anybody.

I remember in a poll in year 6 in my primary school Roald Dahl came out as the runaway winner (ahead of R L Stine and Goosebumps!!) Fantastic Mr Fox was also my favorite but i also like The Twats or The Twits or whatever it was called.
