Finally got this up. Its bare bones right now. Ill work on it more on the weekend. Important thing is we have a free registrastion form out ready for download and distribution to local shops whereever you guys live near. now is the time to see who supports fl bbing! Just drop em off with a manilla envelope for people to fill out and return and we'll collect em in a few weeks. In the mean time I'm gonna work on the website registration form and when we get a lil feed back we can set a date and location, probably sometime in mid to late April.
Please let me know if this form does not print or open or whatever. I did not test it yet. It should only print one page!!!
Oh yeah. the site:

That's the right idea!
Look. I'm not that good at competition. I hardly ever surf good at contests. Never get the results, hardly ever make it to the finals. In contests, I always end up surfing differently, not matter how much I try not to.
Everyone wants to win it all at some level, but truth is, it can't happen for everybody all the time. I will support organizations like the ABA and FBA run by bodyboarders because they need us to. Its about getting the numbers up and making events happen.
If everybody sits back and says ' I aint good enough to win it' or 'I just do it for fun' or <hippy voice>'I'm just a soul-surfer man!'</hippy voice> then we're not gonna have the numbers and all this will be a failure...
Its not about winning or losing, its about contributing to something that promotes the sport at a grass-roots local level, and helping those up and comers who do have the talent, to take it a step further but perhaps need some motivation.
I'm hoping to this will grow and begin to attract more of the younger generation, so we can have a new crop of talent here in FL. When you're young, you want to be famous, and perhaps a FL bbing contest circuit can be the vehicle to deliver those from dreamy aspirations to performance bodyboarding ability and results.
You learn by example. Its easy to watch a vid and freeze-frame a Pipe drop, but its a whole different story here. It's comparing apples and oranges... You can learn alot by vid, but you can also learn alot by watching your peers and those with more experience surf in similiar conditions that you surf in and everyday, and pick things up that way too.
The problem these days, is there are not enough people in the water to lead by example. To push the boundaries in people's minds and motivate each other to a higher level. It was different in the 90's when I was starting up, I would see alot of riders way better than me, and it would fuel my fire and motivate me to improve! It's not like that anymore here in C. FL. Your lucky to see another sponger in the water. At the very least, I want this to be an oppurtunity for FL riders to get together and influence each other for the better...
