Okay, an update on Syuura's status.

The server for Syuura.com is now up again, however all the files are gone. I'm not sure if all the files are gone permanently or if Server-san is still in the process of trying to retrieve them from back-ups and just set up the server again. If the files are gone then not much can be done until Pyoko-chan a.k.a. Terashima_Ryoko returns and sets everything up again. Hopefully Pyoko-chan can restore most of the forum from back-ups of the Mysql database that she has backed-up herself. Anyway, last time Pyoko-chan mentioned that she will be back in October so until then we'll continue using this temp forum. In the meantime please be patient while Syuura is recovering ne~ ^^

Syuura website is restored.
However, most of the files (manga files) are still not available.
These will have to wait for Saa-chan and Kare-rin to help me with. ^^
The website used the older ersion of Misha template, so u guys might noticed there're slight differences on few pages.
Maa`~ I'm currently working hard on restoring the sites.

Also, about the forum, it seems that there is the previous forum db reside inside the site, but I seem can't restored it using the new phpBB2. I will try to work on it, and if its not working, I guess you will have to start all over again with everything ^^;;

Syuura's server went down about a week ago and I believe that all the files were lost. However Server-san, the server's admin, restored files from a previous back-up of the server but the server back-up was made quite a while ago, that's why the old Syuura is up since no back-up was made recently. All the manga files will have to be re-u/l again however I think the forum can be restored since Pyoko-chan has the forum database back-up on her own HDD so she can probably restore most of the forum, unless her HDD died and she lost the back-up again like what happened last time. However I don't know when was the last time she made a back-up, it was probably around March when she made the last back-up so all forum data, threads, posts, etc, which were made after the last back-up will be lost.

Right now there's nothing we can do but wait patiently until Pyoko-chan is able to restore the forum though she hasn't been around for quite a while now >.< Since the server went down I haven't been able to access the ftp accounts on the server either. Anyway please feel free to use the temp forum in the meantime (however please refrain from spamming >.>) and the Syuura manga team will still continue to work hard in order to bring you more releases ne~ ^.-

Sorry for my long absence. I've lost my internet connection and still do, probably gonna wait for more weeks. Anyway, i just noticed that the site is (was) down again..added to my series of unfortunate events... ^^;;.

Regarding the issue, I quote these messages from the Server Admin:

"As our server hardware are having a lot of difficulties, we will be setting up a new similiar server in this short period to switch every accounts in it and send the existing back for warranty and diagnose. We will be using new backup system as we learn from this downtime which will be more safer than RAID1 (2 Hard disk mirror system)

All users will also be upgraded in our expansion plans this coming August (This has nothing to do with this downtime)

All customers will be informed via telephone and emails immediately when we are ready to move."

There are more email before this, but I just put this one as it mention about backup etc. The root of the problem as mention from the other email is another harddisk failure (much like the previous). Although they mention about backup, but I doubt that they have the latest backup of the site. Worst case, we start Syuura.com all over again (*sigh*). This is the third time that the same problem happened, but I'm getting tired to complain about it.

As for the future of Syuura.com, I might rethink of my plan of adding another domain for Syuura.com...seriously this time. I already purchase a domain for a local school 3 months ago, but I might add another domain name for that account as well. The server, though not as spacious as the current Syuura.com, it's much for reliable and stable (though I notice its downtime a lot too). But at least it'll support the forum and the site, excluding the downloads.

In any case, I'm still pretty much "away" atm until my internet connection recover. I'm writing this from other place, but I will try to update everyone with Syuura. Until then, please keep your support for Syuura.com and enjoy the releases. ^^

Unfortunately Syuura's forum is down... again >.< The good news is that it's not a server problem (for once) however the bad news is that the database has been corrupted. I've suspected that the database has been corrupted for a while since there's been problems with MODs as well as frequent database errors. So we'll have to wait until Pyoko-chan (Terashima_Ryoko) is able to fix the forum.

Hopefully the database can be fixed and restored intact with all of the data, if not I have back-ups of the forum's database though the most recent one I have is from the begining of November but I guess that would be better than having to restart the whole forum again ^^;;

It's a pity the forum is down at this time since I had been planning on running several Christmas events >.< Syuura news and updates will be posted in here and in the Syuura LJ Community. If you need to contact us then please post in the temp forum, visit the Syuura LJ Community or drop by our channel -- #Syuura@irc.irchighway.net.

Anyway please be patient until the problem is resolved and Syuura appologizes for any inconvinience caused.

Okay, so with Pyoko-chan gone (and nobody knowing where she is and whether she'll be back or not) Saa-chan and I have to sort out the matters regarding Syuura's site and forum.

Saa-chan purchased a host a while ago so the site is currently being hosted by her at http://www.syuura.cuppy-cake.net/

The site isn't much to look at right now (especially since I fail when it comes to webpage design >.>) and most sections are still under construction (only the index, contact, KCK & KCK Chu pages are up) but it'll have to do for now since I have my hands full with scanlation right now while Saa-chan is working on the forum database x.x;;

I have an old forum database back-up from ages ago (October/November '06) before the forum went down so we're trying to restore that. However there's been problems with restoring it since it seems that the phpBB versions don't match up so there's incompatability problems and stuff x.x;; Anyway Saa-chan's still working on the database but if the problems continue then we will probably just start fresh with a new forum again... (I believe if that were to happen then it would be the 4th time that we've started afresh...)

Anyway we'll continue to use this temp forum for now until the forum is back up ne~
