We are currently in the process of booking bands for this year's Vale Festival. This year is going to be much bigger than last year, with music across three stages and a Dance/DJ tent. If you are in a band at Uni and are interested in playing at the festival, or know of any student/local bands that would go down well at the festival - let us know!

We already have a large number of acts interested in playing, but the more bands we can get the better!

Please post any suggestions in this thread or send me a private mesage.

Hiya, please check out some tracks from our demo. Three of the songs are posted on the site below.

We've augmented the lineup with a second guitarist since last summer.

hey paul,

old school tie are definitely available this time if you will still have us.
And i was wondering if you would be interested in hosting two of my favourite bands from bristol?

Stone from delphi... similar to us but with epic vocals. www.myspace.com/stonefromdelphi (they have played with us before at a fundraiser in the pear in selly oak)

Also The Doubtful Guest. they are massive in Bath and maybe interested in playing. They are folk/country and they are one of the best bands i have seen who are still unsigned. www.thedoubtfuguest.co.uk

Sorry for the rant.... is there a confirmed date for the fest yet?

cheers

james cameron

i for one think its amazingly important that old school tie play - not that i like them as people (esp. not james - he deleted my number from his phone 'by accident' - blatantly it was really cos he stopped loving me), but their music is awesome, and we're supposed to be providing a platform for local bands - that should surely include the best band at our own uni.

A mate of mine plays in a band called Everin. They had a small gig at the Bar Academy recently, which was fantastic, and have a second booking there coming up. Check them out at everin.co.uk.

Suggested the idea - they'd love to but not sure about affording transport costs etc (only one of the four goes to this uni). Who's best to get them in touch with about that sort of stuff?

Me

I'll check 'em out, see if they're what we're looking for. Cheers Simon.

Hey

Have a listen to these guys, i know one of the band is a birmingham uni student. They'v got a kinda rocky sound...

www.myspace.com/page44

They're playing barfly on Apr 19th 2006. And are based locally. I know they'd really appreciate the chance to play.

Jus a thought.

Smile

Yeah, we're going to have a website up and running fairly soon, plus there will be promotional stuff happening within the next few weeks. If you do want to get involved in any capacity then send an email to vale_festival@yahoogroups.com (and state if you have a preference for working in a particular area/special skill blah blah blah....) and we'll get you involved....

Hey guys. I’m a first year student at Birmingham and I’m in a band called Fade To Sepia, we’re doing alright for ourselves. We're head lining the Bar Academy in May and have been going a little over half a year. Anyway it would be awesome if you considered giving us a spot at the Vale festival. We’re a post punk band influenced by some of the heavier aspects of no wave punk. Anyhow, here is our myspace:

www.myspace.com/fadetosepia

See if you like us. We put on a pretty good live show.
