This post is from Greg at Surfshack, on the Gulf Surf Forum. Some of you guys should take the opprotunity to help yourselves and expand the sport on the GC.
If guys want to expand your sport, Compete!!!! I will put a bodyboard division back into the ESA, WFL. If you do good on our coast, you compete in the Southeast Regionals, If you do good there you move onto the Eastern Championships in Hatteras, and you do good there you move onto the US Champianships . On the Eastcoast it is a very competetive division, a matter of fact a lot of surfers crossover in this division. Even Mike Reola (owner of ...Lost) surfed both divisions. No surfers allowed....you an't going to come here to scrounge up bodyboarder money from us. Carlos and I started this shit. There are enough monkee sites to satisfy the monkee populus.
AND any sponger stupid enough to support ANY surfing org like the ESA or some monkee shop should trade in there board and get a fukken stick,
I did the ESA for 5 years back from 86 to 1991 when there were more bodyboarders then ASS monkees....SURFERS dont know how to judge bodyboarding and all the ESA wants is your fukken money so they can give that money to there pussy ass monkee grommets to spend on a surf trip...while the spongers get held out to dry.....
So stay out motherfukker....im the admin and your post will be taken and beaten down.
Support the ABA, FBA and BODYBOARDER owned companies....what the fuk are u guys thinkin? |

Maybe you should watch both your attidude and find out who you are talking to! There is no need for that kind of idiotic post. Go ahead and ban me if you want, I have zero interest in another no tolerance forum. That is insane.
This is a free country, do not start a public forum and then rip anyone you disagree with. This forum will never make it if you are the admin and you break the first forum internet rule.....flaming.
I am not discriminated against by surfers and will not discriminate against them. By doing so you break the very premise of what we are all about.
Obviously you are another of these guys who acts all tough behind the keyboard. Perhaps an apology is in order here. I prefer civilized people and if you have an opinion, voice in a decent manner or keep your mouth shut.

I think we should'nt talk about "contests" in a negative way cause it is an important factor for bodyboarding but lets face it, ESA is a joke . From what I hear bbers get ripped off even if they do posses talent. I am sure the intentions mean well for bodyboarding but for that one surfer that excepts bbers theres a million that are not going to take us seriously. On the other hand, I give props to people who actually enter the bbing divisions under such circumstances. I don't take shit from no one and if I were to enter in a esa contest, I would prolly beat the shit at the first surfer that makes fun of me.
If you gulfters are so interested in the Florida bbing contest scene, where were you when the Aba came in November? Only one guy from the gulf came even when it was small. Support the people who support what you do first; if you don't want to do that then you might aswell surf. Dont get me wrong though, I got nothing against surfers, I am just an underground rider that surrounds himself in bbing only 100% of the time.

I ahve no problem with your point, you expressed it civilly at least. Like I said, this is about discussion. There is no place for personal attacks on forums (especially from the founder!) supposed to bring unity among BB'ers. I could care less about stand up surfing or competitions, just passing along a message. Of course no-one bothered to establish that I have only been on the FL scene for a year and a half and know little about the ESA except that it is known as somewhat "mickey mouse" around here.
Typical case of shoot the messenger. I have taken plenty of crap from some people who are ignorant but in general the stand ups are very down with what I do and none of my friends have any problem going in any line up with me as a bb'er.
Keep in mind too that Greg, the contest guy was staunchly defending BB'ing in general.

| Nobody should dislike/ban anyone because of what they do. By all means if a stand up gets in the forum and is talking mad shit yell at him. From what I got out of the post was a dude trying to help a whole lot (hopefully) of bodyboarders on the gulf coast. And contests may not be the "soul surfer" approach but to be in the water day in and day out with a posititve attitude is a real soul surfer. And if that person has a competitve side let them satisfy it by competing and you could even get free stuff for the sport you love. So remember what your mom said or should of said and if you don't have anything helpful to say don't run your mouth

| by the way if you bodyboard you should support bodyboarding companies. you can get just about anything made by a bodyboarding company and you should do so!

HEY 880, ...All im saying is that it appears that u are a tool of the surfer culture...I DESPISE the ESA....THEY HAVE BURNED GREAT bodyboarders for years....so c'mon...support a bodyboarding ONLY circuit where there is RESPECT for bodyboarding......Ive bled and fought for the sport on the east coast for the past 15 years and Ill be damned if someone who has no f**k clue on what this sport has gone through to claim that some monkee company cares about bodyboarding
ALL I know is I will defend my sport to the death and I have been in many of fights defending the rights of bodyboarders at INLET...melbourne and anywhere else there are shit talkers...

Ok, so knowing that I may be new on the scene here, maybe yiou can cut me some slack and educate me instead of attacking me. I have nothing against my stand up friends but I despise anyone who discriminates against me.
You give me waaay too much credit, I am not in any positiuon to be a spokesperson for anyone. I love BB'ing but I do it for fun, I am stoked this forum started, I will never be a stand up because back in South Africa I came to love the feel of the wave on a BB after trying both and I have too much to learn on a BB
maybe we can get along, I respect anyones point of view, just find out some about me, if you know me, you can rip me 
btw, the GSF fuys are cool and definately for the most part very pro bb'ing, none of them surf for money that I know of.
