The Radish is an extension of these boards, and (deliberately or not) reflects the beliefs and ideals of the people who put it together. It is therefore not a completely free press. This website is totally uncensored, but when the publication team considers articles for the next printed edition, they won't print things that they fundamentally disagree with. Obviously, these ideals will change according to who's at the meeting and can add to the consensus.
If you would like to have other viewpoints represented in print, by all means go ahead and start another press. The public sphere of debate should be as wide as possible. We'll help you start it in any way we can.
If you want your article to go in the printed edition of The Radish, please follow these guidelines:
- Articles must be submitted to the Articles forum by 07:00:00 on the Monday prior to printing. Anything posted after this will not be considered for the next edition.
- All eligible articles will be considered for inclusion on Monday or Tuesday. If we don't include your article, it'll go for consideration in the next edition.
- Columns must be 250 words or less, and full-page articles must be 650 words or less. If you submit anything longer, we will edit for length and you might feel misrepresented.
- We don't want to be a negative press always moaning about things. Try and present your articles in a positive manner.
- Use a good standard of English, and proofread your work. If your article is riddled with spelling mistakes and grammatical errors we might just not have the energy to correct it all. You don't sprinkle commas into a sentence like hundreds-and-thousands, people! And don't even get us started on apostrophes.

Who is the radish? What will not be printed? What do 'we' not fundamentally agree with? Is this going to be amended since the meeting on the 31st? And is it still 23.59.59 for submitting things or is it 16.59.59?
Sorry I just don't know if things are still like this, what was discussed in the meeting sounded cooler |

OK, the guidelines have now been updated according to what was discussed at the meeting on the 31st. The deadline is 23:59:59 on Sunday. What doesn't get printed is up to the subjectivities of whover's on the editorial team on Tuesday. |
