This place is awesome! I have not seen one flat spell since I have been here. The smallest day was chest to head high. This coming wednesday we are expecting a 20 to 30 foot swell. Who wants to come join me in some real surf...? My first day surfing I went out at Ross's Cove, right next to Maverick's. It was double overhead and powerful as shit. Lots of harbour seals. I have surfed Ocean Beach a shit load of times and scored some killer wedges out there at Kelly's Cove right off the rock. I surfed a place called whale cove in Pacifica that was super hollow and very rocky and nothing but sheer balls out and fun as shit. China beach also has some good waves.
