Do you want to make a long lasting and fun RP? If so, you've come to the right thread. Here are the steps you must follow to have a good RP. First of all, Making an RP is like birthing a baby, and that's the analogy we'll use.
STEP 1: The Impregnation.
This is the step were you make an idea. The best RPs have ideas that pop up out of nowhere. An Idea should be something fun and popular, like an rp based on the Simpsons, that would rule. But an RP based on Will Smith's Ali would suck. So when you get an idea, look it over and ask yourself if it would be a good idea.
STEP 2: The pregnancy
This is the stage when you determine What kind of RP you want. There are about 4 main ones:
Novel like RPs: These are rps where the author writes a paragraph or more and the players say what they should do. Example:
Justin sat quietly on the train, waiting to see his target. Suddenly the train was ablaze, and many were dead. He sat up quickly and his eyes met to his target. The man darkly unsheathed an iron katana. Surprised, Justin took out his M76 SCAR and sprayed an array of bullets at the man. He deflected the bullets, all except one. the bullet rang out and penetrated the balaclava of the man. He fell back and hit the ground with a thud. Justin checked the mans vitals. He was surely dead. Justin took the equipment and jumped out of a nearby window and a group of combine soldiers readied there arms against Justin. He smiled and ran at them, a sword in one hand, SCAR in the other.
DND like RPs: These are RPs where there a group of people make characters and choose what they do, trying not to die. Example:
Justin took aim at his target, and squeezed the trigger. a round burst through the mans head, -100 HP. He died and Justin quickly rushed to the body, grabbing his equipment.
Quick bash and smash RPs: This is an RP that is a quick kill, quick reward game. Example: *Justin spawns and shoots randomly*
Last but not least, Choose your own adventure RPs: These are Rps where the author writes something and gives some choices. The players then vote on what to do. Example:
Justin fell and zombies were swarming him! He should...
A) Let them eat him.
B) Kill himself.
C) Run!
Choose what would work best for your own RP. But most of all, choose something fun!
STEP 3: The wait
This is the most difficult part of the process, but in the end it's worth it. This is the wait for posters, it shouldn't take more than a week for a post. If nobody posts, let it die. But when someone posts, rejoice! But your RP may not live to see Step 4, so be prepared.
STEP 4: The birth
This step is when your RP gets kicking! Be sure to check it frequently, because new posters will post in it frequently if it's good. Again, if it stops the postage for more than a week, let it die.
STEP 5: Watching it grow
This is the final step, if you've made it this far, congratz! You have a successful RP! This step is where you keep updating/checking your RP and keeping it stable and fun.
Remember these steps and you should have a stable, fun, and coolio RP.
