Well...getting uploaded by Sonix onto Youtube this thing is, only learning the certain effects of this stuff, a remix of a remix, heh...

Sounds cool, but I also noticed other similar remixes - have you tried making something from scratch yet?

I mean as long as you have all the basic elements that make up an interesting mix, all you need to do is put together the background tempo, melody, chorus & whatever rhythm your working with.

I'll have to say, I'm no musician - but I would imagine once you got comfortable with a cool synth prog, you could make just about any kind of cool sounds.

I'd like to hear more stuff that you made yourself. And a small dose of
music theory might give you some ideas about how to proceed.

Just don't get freaked out by all the technical stuff that goes along with understanding whats behind the music, because if you can get passed that - and really understand what is actually being played it lets you appreciate it all the more.

BTW, if you need or want some very interesting sounds or sound effects to play with - the game has a ton of weird, trippy sounds in the indoor & outdoor ambiance packages. So, if you extract and mess around with them - ie. slow them down, add echos etc. you can make even more cool new wave stuff or at least get some more ideas about what kinds of sound/music you might be into creating. Of course you don't really need to extract them to change them, as the editor has many properties you can tweak - and add effects to the existing sounds without changing the original sound.

I'm no musician either, infact in school I'm terrible at it! And I'd try making something from scratch but uhh...can't find any decent programs. The only I have just lets you do stuff to existing music, unless you mean use stuff like from UT and that, and play it at certain parts adding effects here and there to basically make one from scratch, if so, yeah I can give that a try, will be tricky trying to get all the good songs out and ready though, worth a shot eh?

EDIT: Scratch that, doesn't work out with this program, isn't made to do such things.

What exactly was it you were trying to use? As I would imagine - you will also need a program to convert the sounds or audio into a format that your program can use if it doesn't have a function to convert it by itself.

BTW, there a a ton of audio converters on the net you can use to do that - most are 30 day trials, but some are freeware. you might try a search at www.SourceForge.net for a freeware audio converter.

Right now I'm downloading Sound Forge 8 Demo from www.download.com , its most likely one of those 30 day trials - but a lot can be done in 30 days.

You might also try this site: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/ for royalty free music and sound loops, but I'm sure if you did your homework on how & what to search for to get free stuff - you could find a lot more than what I found in just a few minutes.

Just make sure to scan everything, even if it says its virus free or has already been scanned - and try to stick to sites or companies you've downloaded stuff from before.

My advice would be to stay away from anything that says 'cracked by' or 'warez', you will almost assuredly get some type of bug from those.

BTW, the sites that are mentioned here are cool.

You also might try some cool animated backdrops @ http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/visionseries for your next utube music upload.

I use....

Virtual DJ!

Yeah...can only load songs onto these two slots and do stuff...I did snoop at the actual sound ones but, none of that I can understand, too many buttons, this thing had levels of it, meaning you can put up the interface level to introduce each thing slowly, easier to understand...

Ok, then you will need an OGG to MP3 converter to use the game or other music to mix stuff with.

So, if you DL
Audacity from www.sourceforge.net then you will be able to open a music or sound file, in this case an OGG or WAV and then export it as an MP3 to use in Virtual DJ.

Now, the ball is in your court - can you make a 3 pointer?

BTW, other than converting files - Audacity can save, edit and export multitrack projects too, and the interface isn't all that busy.
