par for the course - Team fortress 2!

...you know since we have half life and portal reviewed on here we might as well do TEAM FORTRESS! and finish up our Orange box.

Now I'm sure that everyone knows team fortress and TF2 ...and if you don't then shame on you! Basically Team fortress is the great great granddaddy of all class based first person shooters, and probably the birth of the Red vs blue conflict! as you all know (now) TF2 is based around two waring factions R.E.D. and B.L.U. (yes i'm spelling it wrong, but thats what the game had!) and their 9 individual classes (scout, soldier, pyro, demoman, heavy, engineer, medic, sniper, and spy) each with there own looks, weapons, and tactics.
First lets go down the list

Scout
This is the class for those speed demons that want the game to be over with so that they can chug more caffeine! armed with a pistol, metallic bat, and a super shotgun these guys are more prone to close combat fighting and with their speed they can make any fight close combat although they are good to have around for there speed they lack in the health and die frequently. So the best tactic for them is to keep moving! they have a special of breaking the laws of physics by double jumping

Soldier
ATTENTION MAGGOTS! This class is a LEAN! MEAN! FIGHTING! MACHINE!
Armed to the teeth with Rockets shotguns and his trusty shovel he is know to Rocket jump over foes and walls that get in his way the higher he is the more damage he does with this rockets but to get high he must trade off some health pretty much a all rounder. made to do everything

Pyro
you know in star wars how the sand people always ambushed people. meet the TF version of the sand people. this is the class of short ranged combat once your within a few meters of this guy your already considered dead. this is the class that all (except maybe the sniper) fear. and one of my personal faves. armed with his trusty fire axe, a shotgun, and of course the FLAMETHROWER he is the guy that makes the bacon... oh and brings it home

Demoman
Its time to take something out with style! demo man can best be described as...beyond helpful! (if the player knows how to use him) armed with 2 diffrent types of grenade launchers (sticky and bouncy) and a whiskey bottle this guy has got the skills...if you got the skills...Hes manly around to stop the engineer's sentrys and hold back the scouts.

Heavy
They call him the Heavy weapons guy. with his trusty minigun that hes named "Sasha" a puny shotgun and his own fists he tares through foes and acts as a portable wall for the base.

Engineer
This class is the most played class in the game. i wonder why... maybe because they can place down a sentry that shoots Heavy style minigun shots and soldier rockers with the accuracy of a sniper...or the fact that he can spawn a little despencer that heals him...or that he can make a teleport that only his team can go through or more accurately he can escape trough in a time of need...nah it has to be because of the kickass Texas cool-ness thats hes got going...

Medic!
The most needed and most targeted class in the game! you are the weakest and strongest link! one of the factors of your teams survival!...till they realize that they can respawn with full health again...sigh all well at lest the Heavy-s love you for your uber-charge ability and they make such a nice shield! you don't get a shotgun instead you have a bone saw and a syringe gun thats practically worthless...

Sniper
BOOM HEADSHOT! the sound that you love to hear and the whole point of your class to take out the problems before they become problems. now dont get me wrong here they are multi talented they can aim and fire
oh yah and they have a knife and a smg but never mind those just use your sniper

Spy
Are you a sneaky bastard! the kind of guy that would stab others in the back just for fun. so is he. the class that can turn the tide of battle and the one class everyones on high alert for. all classes (except the pryo) need to fear this class...Especially if they are in a group facing the other way

the game is not very original you eather capture a base or a "flag"

I have this game, and I love it. Loads of achievements to get, for the Medic and General Achievements. I wonder how long it will be for the achievements for the other classes to be created. I want to unlock better weapons...

I see what they are doing. they are trying to get people to use all of the classes till they find there niche. because out of them all the pryo and medic are the lest played.

Has anyone checked out the TF Mod for UT2k4 yet?

Not much there except some maps and afew muts the last time I looked, but with the BW it might be cool using those maps anyway.

well i have the game. partly because it came with half life. but i have played and it. and i have to say i don't like it that much. maybe because i don't usually get the team that play together. they go out on their own and die quickly.

You really need to play it more to like it. Some dislike the cartoony look. I love it.
