Teamspeak, or "TS" is a program that allows people to communicate via mic over the internet. I recommend having this, because its nice to be able to talk to eachother without typing all the time, and it greatly improves team coordination in certain games, plus its a great way to get to know eachother.

Xfire is an IM program specially made for gamers, working similarly to AIM, MSN, or YIM. The nice advantage of Xfire over other IM programs is this works in-game, and shows your status (what game you are playing) and this is the main way we keep in touch as a clan. It also auto-downloads game updates as well, and has other built-in features as well. And it takes up only a small amount of memory (~10mb)

You can record videos ingame and upload them to your profile! (Sadly, it uses a special codec so you cant upload it to other video hosts such as youtube, but its still awesome)

I've tried the Xfire video before, I wouldn't use it though until its out of BETA. It tends to take the video at horribly low frame rates, and the vido lags behind the sound if you enable that option. Oh, and it doesn't compress the video, I have a 30sec one of UT3 and its 1.5gigs.

It must be something with your computer then, (no offence) because they have a nice framerate and sound syncness and size on mine...
