Zero-Order had a good idea to make a bunch of small scale build maps. This way, with less properties in a single map, it would mean less lag, and better proformance.

So give me some ideas on maps to make.

But then it'll be a fight for props, and people will want map changes often :| And Killing and ahh, I hate the idea already! Unless you add lots of props, but not open, so a space station with station rooms that use Anti-Portals...

Hmmm, yeah...then we'd have some people actually grouping and building something decent for once.

Inside of a massive dropship maybe?
Underground mines?

From what I could see, it's cool - but still too dark for me to see good unless I use one of my special ATI graphics filters to show more details! o.O.

I think it's a very good idea, because thats what I've been working on already - similar to the regular HSP build maps with a central area for players to fight if they don't want to build.

Having map ideas and making them right away tends to end up with a bunch of unfinished maps, but all I really need to do is add the builder elements - and some areas to build in.

I had requested help on my space station map and didn't get much, so its kind of on a back burner.
At least until I can figure out what the heck is going wrong with my blocking.

Small maps load faster too and could be numbered not for versions, but for more props - so there's no squabbling over who gets what prop.

There will be squabbling over which map to play! If I go on, I want to build, not wait for other people to finish fannying about. Half the reason peeps loved Omaha and City, everyone could have fun at once. This is from a players point of view.

Wang is right though, wide open maps do have a lot of lag - and they take awhile to load and so forth.

Underground or maps with rooms would be more practical, so the blocking and such will do its job.

Something like Complex with bigger rooms and living quarters might work well - or maybe even 'GIANT' type maps. Where we would be the size of toy soldiers? and each player would have their own room. :P

me and dvd are currently working on a new version of my old map BuildZoneV2. I modified all the textures. Dvd added a skybox. And i will be adding more rooms. its pretty small and has lots of rooms. even a public build room.

If you compare it to the current build maps, Yes.

Ok, Pine ridge is a sniper outdoor map, probably the size of Rankin x 10. It's big.

Make it on a space station like the death star with awesome blast doors, shiny floors, rooms and teles. That way lots of people can have props at once and BSP can contain Anti Portals.

Death Star is a cool idea! I may try something like that too - but at the moment my Anti-Portals on the space station are reeking havoc because of the circular structure with the anti portals at odd angles.

The blocking for the different sections isn't working right, and I don't seem to be able to find the problem - but I'm still working on it so I may get lucky and find a solution soon.

By deathstar I mean the inside look, you cant exit the space station, how ever, sky boxes will prove good. Just the look. Just watch StarWars Episode VI. (4)
