Sorry for the delay on my map, I am hoping to finish it by tonight. I have been working on it religiously for the past week, dedicating several hours of my day on it. I don't have as much free time as I wish I would have to work on this map. I have been working a lot the past few weeks and I have to pay attention to my girlfriend still :p. I have also donated my time to setting up our redirect, which is 100% hosted by me FYI. It takes time finding, compressing, and uploading around a hundred files for the redirect. Yes, I WAS playing games on and off (mainly Garry's mod), and I hope you guys understand that playing a game for an hour or so is relaxing and gives me a little break that I need.
I am very familiar with the editor, but this is the first real map I have put a lot of time into, and so I am a little slow at it still. Everything inside my map is completely custom made in the editor and sculpting slot machines and such takes a while.
So I really hope those of that you that keep pressuring me and bothering me about finishing my map understand my time schedule. So please, for someone that is contributing a 5GB high speed redirect that is hosting EVERYTHING for the server including this 100+ megabyte map, let me have the privilege of stresslessly finishing my portion. |

I wouldn't think that after that speach anyone would question you. They shouldn't. It's good to know you're using the UED more, I still remember your first creation, DM-iforgot, that BWC chaos map :P I look forwards to seeing the improvement. Just buzz along at your own pace, at the end of the day, you're hosing it, so it has to come through you first ; ) _________________

I've been taking this little bit of time to replace a lot of the BSP with meshes to make what I contribute run well, and continuing to try and get the zoning to behave in an acceptable way.
I was going to send what I have now, but it's still not really in a finishing state - I still want it to run smoothly with no zoning / HOM glitches, that I know Wang would not enjoy trying to fix!
Most of it is zoning, but when I run the map - it keeps showing a few HOM's here and there. But every time I redo each offending zone portal, another one comes up weird.
But, I'm sure if I keep at it - I will be able to fix all of the zoning glitches and end up with a fast running addition to City17v3!. _________________ http://www.gamefront.com/files/user/likemikes/

Dev - Could that be because you're putting ZP's inside SM's. Surely they should fit nicely over a BSP hole? And AP inside BSP...? _________________

Or its because Auto likes to make his BSP too fancy.
When you start getting BSP with too many faces (like a cylinder with 10+) it starts to cause zone and bsp errors, which is why its good to make those items into static meshes. _________________

I believe the trouble stems from 'too many layers of zone portals'(that start acting like anti-portals), so I need to simplify without taking away the functionality.
Almost ready to upload again, and this time with working lifts, and maintenance access.
I also found an easy way to get around any memory management 'herky jerky' editing problems - by just selecting what I need to work with and then select 'Only show Selected'. It stops any glitching and jerkiness when editing, especially big maps.

MI4 Police Chopper.
Bulldog Ambulance. An ACTUAL Bulldog, not a crappy remake.
These are some major additions of vehicles.
Other additions maybe some scorpion/hellbender reskins (with no weapons)
MI4/Hummer/IFAV are originally from the Tango Down vehicle pack, all credit goes to Meowcat for initially creating them, all i did was reskin them and make a few death messages. _________________
