I got to the airport in Santo Domingo and my board didn't show up. I waited for 24 hours at the airport for it to arrive. It never did. I was so frustrated to the point I got a boarding pass to just go home. I was on a budget and just making this a drinking trip wasn't an option.
I went outside to smoke a cigarette(I had taken up smoking for this trip) overlooking the carribean, when a girl talked me out of leaving. DR is cheap she said! That would be quitting if I just left. "How sick would it be if I just pulled this off?" So I jumped in a guagua with no board and fins and headed to the beach.
Not on my preferred equipment, but making the best of it. PE no-stringer and lifeguard shorts, trying to boost. |

I just got back and the past few days was like surfing in a post card.
Didn't take any pics when it was good but it was pretty solid the first day. Few feet overhead and kegging. Nothing like the playful wave above. Same color though.
Pooped from the long ride across the country this morning and then the multiple plane rides and drive home from Orlando. What a mission!
More later. |

There is one pass available right now. As of right now this is a solo trip.
I'm gonna fly into DR, take a private bus up to the north coast. Spend the night there and then head over the next day to surf the point. I'm gonna be looking at staying in a hostel or something in Rio San Juan which is 5 mn or so from la punta madre. Someone told me I should just get there and ask where la punta madre is and the locals would happily tell me! ... jk
Or if any of you guys just wanna surf PR, it should be pumping and we can split accomodations and rental car in Aguadilla. Flights look good. 20/day for car and 25/nt for room. Otherwise I'm gonna scrap it in DR. |
not punta madre hehe, ask for PLAYA GRANDE, you will see la punta at the end of the beach at your left. |

I'm amped on DR, but the models are blowing up for PR next weekend. Solid NW swell.
Ale will La Punta pick up a NW swell? |
Yeah Los, actually is the best direction, swell is looking good for Friday and Saturday with offshore conditions.

I just got back from Trinidad & Tobago.
I didn't get it big, just a solid 6ft every day and surfed the best right I've ever seen, a perfect point break on this shallow reef.
Nothing like a nice and warm clear water!! |

| DR might be crazy with everyone trying to access Haiti via DR. |
Flights are normal right now, they are using military airport to receive rescue planes.
If you guys are going to DR dont go if the swell it's too big, many of the good bodyboarding waves dont handle a very big swell, those up there are only pics, my friends over there told me that it was close out that day. |

We should get a group together and cut the cost... You ever surfed Cocles? Lugo showed me pics and that place looks so good!!! |

CR Caribe are still the best and funnest waves i have ever rode.... puerto limon, cocles, salsa brava.... Real BBing waves........ |
feb 15-19, $285 was the cheapest I found.... |
Puerto Limon! That is the spot! |
That place is too dangerous. I'm going where it's gringo friendly. |
Well it could be....I was taking about the waves...Maybe Aruba or DR |
